FORRESTON – The Amboy Lady Clippers scored runs in bunches en route to a 21-8 thrashing of Forreston on April 30 at Forreston. The game was halted early because of the 10-run rule.
After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Clippers went wild at the plate, tallying seven runs in the second inning, four in the third, six in the fourth and four more in the fifth frame.
Bailee Highbarger and Savannah Ikens both had three-hit games for Amboy. They each had a home run and two singles, with Highbarger driving in three runs and Ikens getting two RBI. Kallie Appleman also slugged a home run and added a single to produce five runs batted in, while Dani Hochstatter clouted a home run and a double. Picking up two hits apiece were Alison O’Rourke (two singles, one RBI) and Kenzie Payne (single, double, two RBI).
Highbarger was in the circle and got the win for the Lady Clippers. She allowed 12 hits and struck out two. She did not issue a walk.
Amboy improved its records to 10-6 overall and 8-5 in the conference.
