MANLIUS – After two weeks without a game, the Amboy Lady Clippers showed no signs of rust because of the lengthy layoff as they posted a 38-20 win over Bureau Valley on Dec. 20 at Manlius.
Defense was the difference in the game as Amboy outscored the home team, 14-2, in the third quarter to take control.
Courtney Ortgiesen and Maeve Larson led the attack with 10 points apiece, while Ortgiesen also hauled down 10 rebounds, had five steals and four assists. Larson contributed six boards and two steals in the winning effort. Also aiding the cause were Addison Pertell with nine points and a pair steals, Emily Sachs with five points, Elly Jones with three points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals, and Tyrah Vaessen with one point, eight caroms and two steals.
