PEORIA – The Amboy-LaMoille cross country teams made their final tune-up before this weekend’s regional when they participated in the Patriot Invitational on Oct. 14 at Detweiler Park in Peoria.
In the girls’ competition, the Lady Clippers finished in ninth place out of 57 teams. There were 288 individual finishers, and Amboy-LaMoille’s Margaret Vaessen took the 38th spot with a time of 20:43.
Kaitlyn Ortgiesen was next in for the Lady Clippers with a 46th-place finish in a time of 21:01, followed by Cassidy Corcoran in 53rd at 21:23 and Ashley Althaus in 68th with a time of 22:07. Rounding out the A-L runners were Kelynn Boyle (125th, 23:16), Macy Mershon (196th, 25:13) and Ally Gascoigne (207th, 25:38).
In the boys’ race, two Clipper runners participated in the event, with Tom Molln placing 113th in 18:33 and Calvin Deering finishing 284th in 22:44.
