Lady Clippers host Pink Night

Posted

AMBOY — The Amboy Lady Clippers and Lamoille/Ohio Lady Lions Volleyball squads teamed up to win the battle against cancer.

The two teams came together to host a Pink Out Night on Monday, Oct. 21 during their game. The girls held a 50/50 raffle, silent auction and a bake sale. Together the teams raised $3,867.68 during the night and contributed the proceeds to the CGH Health Foundation Women’s Health Program.

Women living in the Sauk Valley area, who are in need of health services, will be able to receive a mammogram, breast exam, Pap test and other diagnostic tests through the CGH Health Foundation because of their generosity. Proceeds also go to provide CGH Medical Center cancer patients with comfort bags. These totes contain gas, meal and phone cards along with other items which can assist in their cancer journey.

Amboy Fire Department was on hand with their pink fire truck and ambulance and was also selling shirts during the event.

Donations are accepted year-round by calling Amanda Blaine at 815-625-0400, ext. 5575 or making a gift online at www.cghmc.com/foundation. Blaine was on hand during the event with a display of what services the CGH Health Foundation Women’s Health Program offers.

The organizers would like to thank everyone that donated:
