Lady Clippers finish in the middle of the NUIC Girls’ Conference meet

PECATONICA – The Amboy-LaMoille girls’ track team finished in the middle of the pack in the NUIC Girls’ Conference Meet on May 5 at Pecatonica.

The Lady Clippers scored 62 points to finish in fourth place. Galena won the event with 146.33 points, followed by Fulton with 84 and Dakota with 72.33.

Elly Jones led the way for the Lady Clippers with a pair of first-place finishes. She broke the tape in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.89 and claimed the top spot in the triple jump with a measurement of 34-7.

Jones also took second place in the long jump (15-4), while Lauren Althaus placed second in the 400-meter dash (1:03.95).
