Amboy-LaMoille had five first-place finishes and took second place in the team standings of the Bureau Valley Invitational on April 10 at Manlius.

The home team ran away with the team title with 185 points, followed by the Lady Clippers with 100. Cambridge and Stark County tied with 89 points, while the rest of the field included Annawan (72), Galva (5) and Ohio (4).

The Lady Clippers had three individual first-place finishes. Erin Hosto won the 800-meter run in 2:35.56, Nya Rennell captured the high jump at 4-8 and Katelynn Pankhurst claimed the long jump with a distance of 16-6.

Amboy-LaMoille broke the tape in two of the four relays. The 4x200 team of Cassidy Corcoran, Sidney Corcoran, Ashley Althaus and Pankhurst had a time of 1:52.63, while the 4x400 group of Althaus, Cassidy Corcoran, Maddie Foster and Pankhurst was clocked in 4:24.47.

The Amboy-LaMoille Lady Clippers had their first home meet of the season on April 13 and they were no match for the competition. A-L piled up 10 first-place finishes on its way to 148 points and an easy victory over four other teams. Forreston-Polo took second with 83 points, followed by Pearl City (49), Ashton-Franklin Center (28) and Ohio (5).

Katelynn Pankhurst continued her impressive season by picking up three of the Lady Clippers’ first-place finishes. She won the 200-meter dash, triple jump and long jump, setting a new school record in the latter with a distance of 17-3.5.

The Lady Clippers won five events and took second-place honors in the 15-team Morris Invitational on April 15 at Spring Valley. Bureau Valley won the meet with 134 points, while A-L had 90.

Amboy-LaMoille’s relays sparked the team as all four squads finished in first place. Pankhurst also earned a first in the long jump at 15-10.5.
