BLOOMINGTON – The Amboy-LaMoille girls’ track team competed in the Clinton Last Chance Meet on March 19 at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington.
Results for the Lady Clippers are as follows:
Emma Lundquist, 200m dash, 30.34; 60m high hurdles, 12.32
Ashley Althaus, 400m dash, 1:04.02, 9th place
Margaret Vaessen, 800m run, 2:34.64, 6th place
Kaitlyn Ortgiesen, 800m run, 2:39.99; 1600m run, 6:26.81
Kelynn Boyle, 1600m run, 6:35.16
4x200m relay (Cassidy Corcoran, Althaus, Sidney Corcoran, Brooklyn Whelchel), 1:55.53
4x400m relay (C. Corcoran, Whelchel, S. Corcoran, Althaus), 4:22.84
“It was a great night, especially for the 4x400 relay,” said coach Bob Halberg. “They go into Friday night’s Top Times meet seeded fourth and will be in the fast heat with a chance to really prove what they can do at the state level. Ashley Althaus will be seeded 15th at Top Times.
“The Illinois Top Times meet is the unofficial state indoor track meet for Illinois. This meet is much harder to qualify for than the IHSA state outdoor meet.”
The Top Times meet is March 23-24 at IWU in Bloomington.
