AMBOY — Lauren Tarr has been named the Amboy High School September Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Andrew and Rachel Tarr.

GPA: 4.049/4.0

Memberships and Involvement:  “Throughout high school, I have taken part in several extracurricular activities. I participated in volleyball and softball my freshman year, cross country my sophomore year, and softball my junior year. I recently joined Student Council and have been a member of the Spanish Honor Society for three years, and the National Honor Society for two. I am the secretary of the Leo’s Club and National Honor Society.”

Awards and Honors: “I have been on the highest honor roll all six semesters, awarded the American Red Cross Scholarship, Kidd Scholarship, and Robert L. Warner Scholarship, and was most improved in cross country in 2019.”

Best Memories of AHS: “My favorite memory of every year is always Homecoming week. I love participating in powderpuff, the skit, and going to the game on Friday. I have an extremely competitive class, so we always go all out. I also enjoy going to games with my friends and cheering on the Clippers.”

Future Plans: “I am currently a full-time student at Sauk and plan to complete my associate degree. I will transfer to Illinois State University and obtain a bachelor’s degree in Finance. After college, I would like to attend the Police Academy and move to Tennessee. I hope to one day be a K9 officer or detective.”
