AMBOY — Josephine F. "Dodie" Wilson, 85, of Amboy, died Sept. 15, 2019, at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family.

She was born July 15, 1934 in Amboy the daughter of Jacob and Lily (Wagner) Bach. Dodie had worked at the Amboy Rug Factory, Amboy Sterile Pac, Don's Super Valu, Beggs Foods and the Depot Tap prior to retirement.

She was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church and the church's prayer group and Ladies Organization. She had also volunteered at the Amboy Depot Museum.

Dodie married Lester E. Wilson on Aug. 9, 1952 in Dixon. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1995. 

She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Joseph Ketchum; one great-grandson, Coleman Ketchum; and five brothers, Joseph, Adolph, Theodore, John and William; and five sisters, Florence, Anna, Emma, Isabel and Agnes.

Dodie is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Terry) Halsey and Margie (Larry) Becker, both of Amboy, one son Lester E. (Ann) Wilson, of Prophetstown; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She lived her life first and foremost for God and then totally for her family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, in St Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Burial will follow in St Patrick Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 17, with a scripture service at 3:30 p.m., at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy, and also on Wednesday, from 9 - 9:45 a.m. in the church. 

A memorial has been established for Saint Vincent De Paul.
