AMBOY — Joseph E. McGraw, 71, of Amboy, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018 at William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wis.
He was born Dec. 25, 1946, in Amboy, the son of John and Catherine (Faivre) McGraw. Joe was a Deputy for the Lee County Sheriff's Department prior to his retirement.
He was a Veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy.
Joe married Susan Speer in Dixon January 19, 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nita Nolan and Karen McGraw.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Stephanie (Zack) Galvan, of Rochelle and Shannon McGraw, of Amboy; one son, David McGraw, of Amboy; three nephews, John (Alice) McGraw, Matthew Speer, and Michael Speer; two nieces, Katie (Billy) Broeski and Sarah Heyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, in the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy, with the Rev. Richard Kramer, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy with Military Rites by the Amboy American Legion. Visitation will be held from 2 – 6 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 11, the funeral home.
