AMBOY – John E. White, 82, of Amboy, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
John was born June 18, 1935, in Ida Grove, Iowa, the son of Glen and Florence (Buchman) White. John was a 1953 graduate of Amboy High School.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie (Frank) Selmi, of Rock Falls and Cindy (Tim) Condon, of San Diego; one son, John White, of Evergreen, Colo.; grandchildren, Matthew and Katy Selmi, Kevin, Annie, and Grace Condon, and Pavin and Creean White; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Wilfred “Bud” White.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Merlyn, Allan, and Gordon; and one sister, Winifred.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. March 10 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. Cremation rights have been accorded by Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s honor to Lee Center First Congregational-United Church of Christ, PO Box 40, Lee Center, IL 61331; or to Teen Turf Inc, 235 W. Main St., Amboy, IL 61310.
