STERLING- Jacque H. Edwards, 88, died peacefully Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Regency Care of Sterling.
Graveside services were held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. Arrangements were by McDonald Funeral Homes.
He was born on June 30, 1928 in Pittfield, the son of Elby R. "Jack" and Elsie B. (Kanzler) Edwards. He was a 1947 graduate of Sterling High School. He married his true love Jo Anne North of Amboy on June 18, 1977. She died at the age of 66 on Feb. 3, 2013. They had been married for 36 years and lived in Rock Falls. Jacque retired as a radio dispatcher for the Rock Falls Police Department. He was a member of the Sterling Moose for many years. Jacque enjoy building model planes and cars, doing carpentry, music and boating. He loved his special cats, Smokie and Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his step dad, Harry Gibbs; and step brothers; Merle Gibbs and Rich Gibbs.
