LEE CENTER — Ivern Ackerson, 95, of Lee Center, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018 at her home.
She was born June 14, 1923 in Manito, the daughter of Henry Sylvester "Bus" and Lenora (Singley) Fuller. She had been a cook at the Lee Center School for 25 years. She was also a homemaker and helped her husband with the farm.
Irvern married Wayne Ackerson on Aug. 8, 1942 in Dixon. He preceded her in death March 6, 1989.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother and one sister.
Irvern is survived by her children, Betty (Chuck) May of Highland, Eugene (Colette) Ackerson, of Vaughn, Mont., and Charlotte (Jim) Van Natta and Lois Ackerson, both of Lee Center; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) Van Natta, Jeff Van Natta, James Van Natta, Michelle (Greg) Smolik, Kim Ackerson, Brian (Shawna) Ackerson, Chad May and Kyle (Vicki) May; nine great-grandchildren, Kaden and Natalee Van Natta, Shantelle, Kira, and Natalie Smolik, Ali Orr, Brenden, Reese and Elisen May.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday Nov. 23, 2018 at the Lee Center First Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Jack Briggs officiating. Cremation will follow with burial of cremains at a later date at Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday in the church.
A memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice and Home.
