AMBOY — The First National Bank in Amboy receives 2020 National Community Bank Service Award.  Independent Community Bankers of America announced this year’s Community Bank Service Awards by recognizing banks across the nation for their extraordinary efforts and service to small businesses, consumers and their communities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The First National Bank in Amboy was recognized with 100 banks across the nation for their outstanding service to their communities. The ICBA then highlighted the stories of 20 of these banks and The First National Bank in Amboy was chosen for their efforts in writing nearly 600 cards to area nursing home residents; the cards included pictures colored by children and grandchildren of bank employees and they were delivered with cookies from local bakeries for the employees of those homes that provide care for our most vulnerable population.

Colleen Henkel, Executive Vice President stated, “We are incredibly proud of our staff for their dedication and for finding new and meaningful ways to give back and serve our communities.”
