AMBOY — The Amboy Clippers’ varsity baseball team hosted Dakota at Amboy City Park and came away with an exciting 5-4 win on April 18.
Justin Hart’s seventh inning double drove in the winning run. Hart had two hits and two RBIs and Clayton Kemp tied the game at 4-4, all in the third inning, with an RBI single. Alexis Gutierrez reached base three times on two walks and a hit by pitch.
Mitchell McLaughlin picked up the win in an inning of relief of Hunter Zimmerly, who pitched five scoreless innings, holding Dakota to the four runs scored in the first inning.
