ROCKFORD — Glenn A. Sauter, 66, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at Rockford Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., on Friday June 16, 2017, at St. Paul Ev Lutheran Church, 421 S. Peoria Ave, Dixon. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m., on Saturday, in the church with the Reverend Brant Clements officiating.He was born on May 16, 1951 in Chicago, the son of John Wesley and Evelyn Martha (Lietzow) Sauter. He earned his Bachelor of Science (summa cum laude) in 1973 from Millikin University; a Master of Business Administration in 1982 from Loyola University; History Major – Second Certification in 1995 from Lewis University; Master of Science – Education in 2008 from Northern Illinois University.

For his first 22 years Glenn had worked as an account representative in the employee health Industry. He began teaching and served as a guidance counselor at Amboy High School until his retirement. He then worked part time as a teacher in Adult Education at Sauk Valley Community College.

Glenn married Vicki Sackrider on Sept. 16, 1978 in Tinley Park.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Sauter; his brother, Wayne Sauter, of Oswego, IL; his sister-in-law, Pam (Doc) Dorneden; his nephews, Brett (Heather) Sauter, Jeff (Megan) Sauter; his nieces, Dana (Eric) Van Ness and Guenevere Nyderek.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
