LEE COUNTY — Lee County residents went to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8 for the Illinois General Election. The unofficial results follows. A total of 12,247 ballots were cast out of 21,557 possible which is 56.8 percent of the eligible voters took part in the election.
For United States Senator, incumbent Tammy Duckworth won her seat back. But in Lee County, the voters preferred the Republican Kathy Salvi, earning 59.45 percent of the vote.
For Governor of the State of Illinois, incumbent JB Pritzker won the state-wide race. Lee County voters favored opponent Darren Bailey, earning 59.35 percent of the vote.
Incumbent Kwame Raoul ran for another term as Illinois Attorney General and won the state-wide vote. In Lee County, voters cast their vote for Republican Thomas DeVore, earning 62.28 percent of the vote.
The Secretary of State race saw Democrat Alexi Giannoulias winning the state-wide vote. In Lee County, voters backed Republican Dan Brady with 63.52 percent of the vote.
Incumbent State Comptroller Susana A. Mendoza won the state-wide vote. In Lee County, voters were behind Republican Shannon Teresi with 59.02 percent of the vote.
Illinois State Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs won another term in office. In Lee County, the voters preferred local candidate Republican Tom Demmer with 67.96 percent of the vote.
Incumbent Darin LaHood won the Lee County votes and statewide votes for U.S. House Illinois District 16. LaHood received 64.66 percent of the vote in Lee County.
For State Senator 37th Legislative District Win Stoller was unopposed and received 100 percent of the Lee County vote.
For State Representative 74th District, Bradley J. Fritts was unopposed and received 100 percent of the Lee County vote.
For Lee County Board District 1 voters were asked to vote for 5 people, the results are incumbent Michael Koppien 2086, Angie Shippert 1976, incumbent Robert J. Olson 2077, incumbent James Schielein 1669, Ronald R. Gascoigne 1804, Emily Rose 1071, David Bingaman 985 and David McCarver 929.
