ROCKFORD – Gene Emmet “Dreamer” Langley, 75, of Rockford died Monday, June 19, 2017 in Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport.
Memorial visitation 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago. Cremation rites are accorded. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
He was born July 24, 1941, in Rockford, the son of Glen Raymond and Frances Marie (Johnson) Langley. He graduated from Winnebago High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from July 30, 1963 to July 28, 1967. Gene drove truck for Harold Burkhart in Seward and HWI in Dixon. He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, bowling and during the winter season living in Florida.
Gene is lovingly survived by his sons, Michael (Tess) Langley, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kevin (Rhonda) Langley, of Winnebago, and Brian (Destiny) Langley, of Lyndon; step-daughter, Brandie (Jim) Uselman, of Salem; nine grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Harriett) Langley, of Winnebago, Jay Langley of Winnebago; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Gene is predeceased by his parents and longtime girlfriend Jean Cargill, of Amboy.
