AMBOY — Frederick J. Minor, 82, of Amboy, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at Maple Crossing in Amboy. He was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Rochelle, the son of James and Willie (McClain) Minor.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, in Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with the Rev. Mark Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery in Waterman with Military Rites by the Waterman American Legion.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
He had worked for Nation Pizza in Waterman as well as Crest Foods in Ashton prior to his retirement.
Fred was a Veteran of the Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 3878 in Rochelle.
He married Delores Blue June 15, 1990. She preceded him in death Feb. 28, 2010.
Survivors include his son, Kipton (Lynn) Minor, of Dixon and Tiffany Glenn, of Flagstaff, Ariz.; step-daughter, Deborah (John) Harvey, of Lawton, Iowa, and step-daughter-in-law, Paula Blue, of Amboy.
He was preceded in death by his step-son, James Blue.
