AMBOY — Dennis D. Moore, 76, of Amboy, died on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022 at Jevon Bea Hospital in Rockford.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1945 in Mendota, the son of Earl Clinton Ray and Viva Maree (Musser) Moore.

Dennis was the purchasing manager for Dean Foods in Amboy and Dixon for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He also owned and operated CDM Handy man service for several years. Dennis was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He married Nancy Carlson on Feb. 16, 1965 in Dixon.

Dennis is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy who passed on Nov. 6, 2007. He is also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glenn, Leroy, Lawrence and Earl Moore; AND sisters, Bernadine Yaklich, Donna Krebs, and Bernice Haefner.

Dennis is survived by his children, Dawn (Thomas) Scully, of South Lyon, Mich., and Michelle Machen, of Holland Mich.; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Lisa) Scully, Melissa (Mark) Thompson, Magan (Matt) Krim, Makayla Scully, Cassie Streur, Reba Renee (Teo) Nunez, Cody Machen, Laura (Jack) Dunlap; 11 great-grandchildren, Gracie, Alisha, Masen, Joel, Reece, Serenity, Carson, Charity, Teito, JayceAna, and Sebastian. He is also survived by two brothers, Norman Moore, of Colorado, and Leslie (Gail) Moore, of Washington.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – noon, on Saturday, Jan. 15 2022, at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Funeral Services will follow starting at noon at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Burial to follow at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy with military honors by the Amboy American Legion.
