Delores L. White

ROCHELLE — Delores LaVonne White, 72, of Rochelle, passed away on Nov. 14, 2022. Delores was born on Dec. 17, 1949 in Oregon, IL to Harold Harmon and Zada (Ware) Hitchcock.

She had a lifelong passion in supporting special needs and disadvantaged children, working as a social worker and employed by Franklin Center School District, Lutheran Social Services at Nachusa, and Focus House prior to her retirement. Her hobbies included gardening and decorative home crafts.

Delores is survived by her children, Jay (Carolyn) Vivian, of Shawnee, Kansas, John Vivian, of Alexandra, Virg., and Jennifer Vivian of Ashton; grandchildren, Jacob (Ashley) Kaecker, Colin Kaecker, Andrew Vivian, Hope Kaecker, Claire Vivian, Grace Vivian, Mark Vivian, and Adam Vivian; Siblings, Ailce (LeRoy) Dukes, of Amboy, Jamie Hawk Harmon of Rockford, Charlie Harmon of Chicago; half-sisters, Zada (Gary) Bailey of Mt. Morris and Cathy Bemus of Oregon; as well as a foster brother, John (Diane) Nicholson, of Franklin Grove.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Zada; brothers, George and Harold Harmon and Jack Hitchcock, Jr.; foster parents, Fred (Bud) and Barbara Nicholson; foster brother, Mike Greeves; foster sister, Betty Evans.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Delores’ name may be made to Foundation for Focus House, Rochelle.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
