MENDOTA - Debra R. Gehant, 63, of Mendota passed away Oct. 1, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the Schwarz Funeral Home with a 4 p.m. rosary.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Butz, David Costello, Nick Delao, Dominic, Lawrence and Tim Gehant, James Latchford and Jamie Lewis.
Deb was born Nov. 10, 1954 in Peoria to Clifford and Jacqueline (Stopa) Rider. She was raised by Lee and Jackie Lewis. She married Edward Gehant in Ottawa on Nov. 27, 1973.
Survivors include her husband of Mendota; one daughter, Jennifer Latchford of Mendota; one grandson, James Latchford; and one sister, Tina (Kevin) Pocius of Mendota.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, SFC Julianna Gehant on Feb. 14, 2008 and her parents.
Deb graduated from Mendota High School in 1972. During her work career she was a lab technician at Growmark FS, and was a grain clerk for many years with Maplehurst Farms Inc. She was a member of Holy Cross Church.
