David A. Reubin

DIXON — David A. Reubin, 71, of Dixon, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. He worked 45 years as a salesman/butcher in the meat business prior to his retirement.

David was born Aug. 27, 1951, in Amboy, the son of Herman and Pauline (Wagner) Reubin Sr. Even though he may have been divorced, he remained friends with his wives, Elizabeth Weir, marrying her in 1973; and Merry Gatliff, marrying her in 1987. David was an avid golfer and hunter; was a lifetime member of the NRA; a family historian; and was a dedicated and active classmate of Amboy High School class of 1969.

He is survived by his, daughter, Courtney Reubin; three brothers, Ronald Reubin, Donald (Sue) Reubin, John (Jack) Reubin; two sisters, Kathryn (Brian) Cullon, Carol (James) DeGeorge; two grandchildren, Alex Reubin, Laney Reubin; special companion, Sandra Draper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Evelyn "Effie" (Elmer) Sensenig; and two brothers, Herman (Judy) Reubin Jr., and James (Rose) Reubin.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with Chaplain Judy Williams, officiating. A Celebration of Life will be from 1 - 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Amboy Community Center, Amboy. Cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being set up for the future education for his grandson, Alex Reubin.
