The Rochelle Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution serves the greater Rochelle area including Amboy, Ashton, Creston, Davis Junction, Dixon, Franklin Grove, Grand Detour, Hillcrest, Holcomb, Kings, Leaf River, Lindenwood, Monroe Center, Oregon, and Stillman Valley. Membership is open to any woman who can show direct lineage from a Patriot of the Revolutionary War. The following new officers were installed for the 2021-23 term: Seated, l-r: Laurie Perry, Regent; Debby Katzman, Vice Regent. Standing, l-r: Mary Lou Kator, Chaplain; Bea Chaplin, Corresponding Secretary; Holly Campion, Historian; Sarah Flanagan, Registrar; Becky Danner, Treasurer; Judy Schermerhorn, Librarian. Not shown: Mandy Aldridge, Recording Secretary; Danette Hayes, Parliamentarian. The chapter’s next meeting will be held at the Creston Opera House and simultaneously via Zoom on Saturday, Oct 9 at 1pm. Regent Perry will present a program recognizing the 100th anniversary of the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.” Guests are invited to attend.
