The Lee County Board recently recognized Officer Mark Dallas for his heroic efforts on May 16 at the Dixon High School. His efforts prevented the possible loss of numerous lives at the hands of an active shooter. A humble man, Dallas replied. “I was only doing my job.” He also urged the members of the county board and the spectators, to help secure a school resource officer position, whenever possible.
