DIXON – The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work will begin Monday, July 6, at the intersection of US Route 52 and Main Street in Amboy.
O’Brien Civil Works, Inc. will be reconstructing the ADA sidewalk ramps on the $159,000 contract. Traffic will be reduced to one lane utilizing flaggers for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed near the end of July.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
