The epitome of a small town is coming together when someone is in need. Friends and family of Ryon Richardson gathered on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Lee County 4-H Center, to host a day long “Pulling for Ryon” fundraiser.

Ryon was injured in an anhydrous ammonia farming accident in April. His recovery has come a long way, but he still has a long way to go. He is currently traveling to Chicago three times a week for therapy.

Scott Vivian, one of the organizers of the event, is Ryon’s uncle.

The day included two classes of tractor pulls.

Other events during the day included: food vendors; Kids activities going on; a bounce house, face painting, kids games, archery and a kid’s pedal pull; a bags tournament; a beer garden; a bake sale

In the evening the Paw Paw Lions Club cooked up a chicken dinner

There was also a live and silent auction.
