AMBOY — The Amboy Clippers played three games the week of April 24.
On April 24, at the Amboy City Park, the Clippers hosted Orangeville for a doubleheader. Clayton Kemp finished off an exciting game with a two-out, two-strike, two-run single for the 9-8 victory in the bottom of the seventh. Mitchell McLaughlin led the way with three singles. Jordan Hochstatter singled, doubled and scored twice. Brady Hulin reached base three times with two walks and a double.
In game two, the Clippers scored four runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings to cruise to a 14-0 victory. Justin Hart pitched a complete game and added two singles at the plate. Hochstatter had three singles and a double. McLaughlin added two doubles.

Amboy won their third straight game against Ashton Franklin Center, 7-2, on April 26. The Clippers scored five runs in the third inning. That was all Hunter Zimmerly needed as he allowed only two runs and struck out eight Raiders. Zimmerly also had two singles and a double at the plate. Hochstatter and Hart each had two hits and scored twice.
The Clippers’ record stands at 9-8 overall and 6-6 in the conference.
