FREEPORT – The Amboy-LaMoille Clippers are still searching for their first win of the season after dropping a 52-24 decision to Aquin in a Northwest Upstate Illini South Division contest on Sept. 27 at Freeport.
Aquin jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the Clippers got on the board and cut the deficit in half, 14-7. But the Bulldogs did all of the scoring in the second period and grabbed a 35-7 advantage at the half.
Amboy-LaMoille added single touchdowns in the third and fourth frames
Aquin remained undefeated at 5-0.
Something has to give when the Clippers (0-5, 0-3) make the long trek to Galena to take on a winless Pirates team in an NUIC crossover game on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
