AMBOY – Ashton-Franklin Center proved to be no match for Amboy as the Clippers cruised to a 63-36 victory over the Raiders in varsity boys’ basketball action on Feb. 10 at the AHS gym.
The Clippers burned the net for 19 first-quarter points and held a 19-6 lead after the smoked cleared on the opening stanza.
Amboy continued its hot shooting in the second period and carried a 40-19 cushion to the locker room. A total of seven Clippers dented the scoring column in the second quarter. The count stood at 54-28 heading to the fourth frame.
Trevor Vaessen was the lone Clipper in double-digit scoring with 19 points. He knocked in three shots from beyond the three-point arc. Lane Boehle was next with eight points, while Brady Jones and Andruw Jones supplied seven points apiece.
