AMBOY – The Amboy/LaMoille track teams hosted sixth other schools in a meet on May 11 at the AHS track. It was a successful day for A/L as both the girls’ and boys’ teams finished in first place.

The Lady Clippers scored 98 points and squeaked past second-place Milledgeville, which had 96 points. The rest of the participants included Indian Creek (70), West Carroll (67), Ashton-Franklin Center (39), Earlville (30) and Hinckley-Big Rock (23).

Five first-place finishes propelled A/L to victory. Elly Jones picked up four of the top finishes for the Lady Clippers in the 100-meter hurdles (15.52), the 300-meter hurdles (48.68), the long jump (5.16m) and the triple jump (10.78m). Lauren Althaus was the other first-place finisher in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.15.

The Clippers rolled up 118 points to outdistance second-place Indian Creek (106). Milledgeville took third place with 58 points followed by West Carroll (53), AFC (37), Hinckley-Big Rock (35) and Earlville (21).

A/L recorded three first-place finishes. Taking top spots were Ben Henrickson in the 200-meter dash (23.92), Brock Loftus in the 1600-meter run (4:47.09) and Chandler Pohl in the shot put (11.66m).
