Clippers finish second at Du-Pec Invitational

PECATONICA – Amboy-LaMoille’s boys’ track team put together a strong effort in finishing second in the eight-team Du-Pec Invitational on May 2 at Pecatonica.

The Clippers took top honors in six events, which helped them pile up 145.5 points, placing behind only team winner North Boone (201).

Kyler McNinch and Ian Sundberg were both double-winners for A-L. McNinch raced to first in the 1600-meter run (5:03.71) and the 3200-meter run (11:03.73), while Sundberg took charge in the shot put (41-8) and discus (134-8).

Joel Billhorn also claimed an individual first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.9, while the 4x400-meter relay team topped the competition in 3:51.31. Toting the baton were Billhorn, Zane Murphy, Caleb Yanos and McNinch.
