DAKOTA – Amboy-LaMoille couldn’t hold an early lead and fell to Dakota, 22-14, in a Northwest Upstate Illini Conference football encounter on Oct. 5 at Dakota.

The Clippers scored a pair of first-quarter touchdowns and led 14-0 after the opening stanza, but that proved to be the final points they would score in the game.

Dakota tallied its first touchdown in the second period and the Clippers carried a 14-7 lead to intermission.

The Indians went on top in the third quarter with a touchdown and a two-point conversion, and then tacked on a TD in the fourth frame to provide the final eight-point margin.

The Clippers (2-5 overall, 2-4 conference) will play their final road game of the season when they journey to Galena (2-5 overall, 1-5 conference) on Friday, Oct. 12.
