DAKOTA – Four first-place finishes powered the Amboy-LaMoille boys’ track team to the team championship of the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference Freshman-Sophomore Meet on May 15 at Dakota.

The Clippers scored 102 points for the top spot over second-place Milledgeville, which had 94 points.

Amboy-LaMoille had three individual first-place finishes. Caleb Yanos broke the tape in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.72 and Joel Billhorn beat the competition to the finish line in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.23. Edy Fry also claimed first place in the high jump with a measurement of 5-10.

The other top finish for A-L was in the 4x400-meter relay. Fry, Brayden Klein, Atticus Horner and Billhorn ran a winning time of 3:48.54.

The Lady Clippers finished in seventh place with 52 points. Milledgeville won the girls’ meet with 89 points.

Samantha Nauman turned in a first-place performance in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 54.29. Grabbing second place were Bella Yanos in the 200-meter dash (28.02) and Jillian Anderson in the high jump (4-8).
