AMBOY -— The Amboy Clippers dropped a narrow 56-54 decision to Somonauk in varsity boys’ basketball action on March 8 at the AHS gym.
After trailing 25-19 at the half, the Clippers staged a third-quarter comeback and tied the game at 36-36 heading to the fourth. The game remained tight over the final eight minutes before the Bobcats pulled out the win.
Amboy had a balanced scoring attack led by Tucker Lindenmeyer with 16 points. Connor Simpson was next with 14 points, followed by Trevor Vaessen with 10 and Preston Henkel with nine.

Polo posted 44-27 triumph over the Clippers on March 9 at Polo. The home team raced out to a 17-5 lead after the opening quarter and carried a 23-12 advantage to intermission. The Marcos held a 33-19 cushion heading to the final stanza.
Ian Eller topped the Clipper scoring chart with eight points, while Vaessen chipped in with five tallies.
