Clippers compete in Northwest Upstate Illini Conference track meet in Forreston

FORRESTON – The Amboy-LaMoille boys’ track team had its final preparation for the sectional when it completed its regular season schedule in the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference track meet on May 11 at Forreston.
Kyler McNinch was the star of the show for the Clippers, earning two first-place medals. The senior had a winning time of 4:51.79 in the 1600-meter run and outran the competition in the 3200-meter run with a clocking of 10:31.56.
The next best finish for the Clippers belonged to Ian Sundberg, who took third place in the discus with a distance of 131-2.
Amboy-LaMoille placed sixth in the team standings with 64 points. Lena-Winslow (135) outdueled Galena (131) for the team championship.
