The Amboy-LaMoille cross country teams returned to action by participating in the Rochelle European Style Invitational on Sept. 13.
The Clipper boys took third place out of five teams. Tom Stamberger was the overall winner of the race in a time of 18:21. Next in for A-L was Brock Loftus in 12thplace with a time of 20:12. Also competing for the Clippers were Mateo Ramis (18th, 21:30), Ian Eller (19th, 21:31), Andruw Jones (42nd, 23:08) and Calvin Deering (43rd, 23:09).
Four Lady Clippers ran in the girls’ race and Margaret Vaessen finished in seventh place overall with a time of 23:03. Kaitlyn Ortgiesen occupied the eighth spot in 23:57, while Kelynn Boyle took 11thin 24:36 and Bailey Bickett was 35thin 30:12.

Amboy-LaMoille runners earned six medals in the Bureau Valley Invitational on Sept. 15 at Walnut. There were 36 schools in the event.
Vaessen finished in 16thplace in the girls’ race to bring home a medal. Her time was 20:56. Also running for the Lady Clippers were Ortgiesen (43rd, 22:44), Boyle (47th, 22:52) and Bickett (130th, 26:17).
Stamberger was the lone Clipper participant in the varsity boys’ race and his 11th-place finish was good enough to grab a medal. He completed the race in 17:07.
Amboy’s freshman-sophomore boys’ team finished in second place out of 23 teams and four runners medaled. They included Loftus (8th, 15:25), Eller (9th, 15:35), Ramis (10th, 15:38) and Deering (22nd, 16:51). Jones finished 38thwith a time of 17:36.
