Clipper Track Sectionals

Boys Track

ERIE – The Amboy-LaMoille boys’ track team will compete in the Erie Class 1A Sectional on Friday, May 18. Field events start at 4 p.m. and running events will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Other schools in the sectional include Earlville [Coop], Erie [Coop], Fulton (H.S.) [Coop], Granville (Putnam County), Henry (H.-Senachwine) [Coop], Hinckley (H.-Big Rock), Manlius (Bureau Valley), Morrison, Ottawa (Marquette), Port Byron (Riverdale), Serena, Shabbona (Indian Creek), Somonauk, Spring Valley (Hall) and Sterling (Newman Central Catholic)

First- and second-place winners in each event, including relay teams, from the sectional will advance to the State Final Meet. In addition, any individual or relay team who equals or surpasses the qualifying standard in the finals for the class they represent in the sectional meet will advance to the State Final Meet in their class.

The State Meet will be May 24-26 in Charleston.

Girls Track

ROCK ISLAND – The Amboy-LaMoille girls’ track team has been assigned to the Rock Island (Alleman) Class 1A Sectional to take place on Thursday, May 10 at Augustana College’s Austin E. Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex, 639 38th St., Rock Island. The meet will kick off with field events at 4:30 p.m. followed by running events at 6:30 p.m.

Also assigned to the Alleman Sectional are Aledo (Mercer County), Ashton (A.-Franklin Center), Cambridge [Coop], Earlville [Coop], Erie [Coop], Fulton (H.S.) [Coop], Manlius (Bureau Valley), Milledgeville [Coop], Morrison, Orion, Port Byron (Riverdale), Rock Island (Alleman), Savanna (West Carroll), Shabbona (Indian Creek), Sterling (Newman Central Catholic) and Taylor Ridge (Rockridge).

First- and second-place winners, in each event, including relay teams, from the sectional will advance to the State Final Meet. The State Meet will be May 17-19 in Charleston.
