SUBLETTE — Carl F. Biederstedt, 74, of Sublette, died Sept. 20, 2017 at his residence.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 26 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Pastor Steve Adamson officiating. Burial will be at Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille at a later date. Visitation was from 4:30-7 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the funeral home.
Carl was born May 18, 1943 in Philadelphia, Penn., to Carl and Rosalia (Kuebel) Biederstedt. He married Julie Sporleder on Nov. 28, 1971 at Union Church, Sublette.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Joanie (Steve) Dinges; one son, Jeff Biederstedt; two brothers, Kent (Kathie) Biederstedt and Harvey (Paula) Biederstedt; and three sisters, Charlene Phillps, Lynne Gambrel and Bonnie Biederstedt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rose Ann Carlson.
Carl was a 1961 graduate of Mendota High School and served with the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1967. He was employed by Illinois Frame from 1979 to 2004 and was then employed by Woody True Value in Sublette from 2005 to 2015. He was an active member and trustee of Sublette Union Church until it closed in 2015. He currently attended Faith Assembly of God Church in Peru.
