AMBOY – The 2017 Clipper Boys’ Basketball Camp will be held June 12-16 at the AHS gym.
Campers in second through fourth grades will meet from 3-4 p.m. each day. The cost is $25. Campers in fifth through eighth grades will meet from 4-6 p.m. each day. The Cost is $45. If more than one child from a family attends the camp, deduct $10 from the total.
The purpose of the camp is to stress fundamentals, hard work and dedication at all levels. The camp is designed for young athletes who want to mix learning fundamentals with team play during games. Each camper will receive individual attention.
For the young campers, the items to be stressed include dribbling and crossovers, footwork, right- and left-handed layups, shooting and passing, and basketball terminology.
For the older campers, the items to be stressed include a review of fundamentals, setting and using screens, individual moves, shooting and passing, and low post play.
The camp will also include daily drawings and prizes. Each camper will receive a T-shirt and ball.
