ROCHELLE — Arlene G. Jacobs, age 66, of Rochelle, and formerly of Amboy, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Rochelle Gardens. 

She was born Jan. 3, 1953, in Amboy, the daughter of Leo and Wandalee (Myers) Bonnell. She

was a graduate of Franklin Center High School, where she won the Betty Crocker award and was voted FFA Sweetheart her senior year.

Arlene was a CNA for many years working at Mapleside Manor in Amboy, Franklin Grove Health Center, and Mendota Lutheran Home. She loved to sing, and spend time with her children, grandchildren and animals.

Arlene married Arthur Jacobs Jr. in Amboy May 22, 1980.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lowell Bonnell.

Survivors include her 6 children, Bill (Samantha) Foster, of Milton, Wis., Tracy (John) Daniels, of Hermitage, Penn., Chuck (Stacie) Williar, of Sycamore, Michelle Osborn (Jamie Faust), of Fulton, Stephanie (Donnie) Sommers, of Kingman, Ariz., and Aaron Jacobs (Melanie Merced), of DeKalb; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; three brothers, Howard (Elaine) Bonnell, of Benton, Ky., Les (Karen) Bonnell, of Steward, and Alvin (Sherry) Bonnell, of Jefferson, Wis.; and sister-in-law, Christine Bonnell, of Troy Grove.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, May 11, 2019, in the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with Karen Bonnell, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., on Friday, May 10, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
