AMBOY — Antoine L. "Buck" Clairmont, 87, of Amboy, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 19, 1931, in Forsyth Twp., Michigan, the son of Joseph and Bertha (Frazer) Clairmont.
Buck had worked as a Lumberjack in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan earlier in his life, and then he was a Truck Driver for the Teamsters for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1994.
He enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica around a campfire, as well as collecting pocket knives, belt buckles, and coins.
He married Sandra R. Fehd in Elgin, on April 11, 1960.
She preceded him in death Sept. 16, 2017. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Joseph Clairmont; and five sisters, Anna Ward, Frances Gauthier, Evelyn Ketola, Betty Walker, and Kathryn Felmlee.
Survivors include two daughters, Diana Clairmont and Sheila Clairmont both of Amboy; three grandchildren, Brandon (Janna) Smith, Shawnee Smith, and Ronald (Noelle) Spicher; four great-grandchildren Justice, Tristen, Fiona, and Caden; one brother, Frederick Clairmont, of San Jacinto, Calif.; and one sister, Phyllis Wolf of New Jersey.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
At Antoine's request, there will be no services or visitation.
