AMBOY — It’s only a few more months until Christmas and the Amboy Christmas Walk committee has announced some changes this year.
“Unfortunately, there is no way to predict what December will look like as far as regulations and stipulations,” a letter from Gina McCoy and Meghan Schamberger, Amboy Christmas Walk organizers said. “The Amboy Hometown Christmas Walk Committee and the City of Amboy has decided to still follow through with a Walk, but with a new spin on things. We have put our heads together and have decided to go virtual during the month of December leading up to Christmas.”
The committee is hoping to keep the Christmas spirit alive and well throughout Amboy, and any ideas on keeping the virtual Christmas Walk a success or what people would like to see are welcomed.
Since the actual Christmas Walk is not taking place, the committee has decided to hold drawings Dec. 4, 11 and 18. These drawings will include items from local businesses, and be held in place of the previous cash drawings. Each week customers patronizing local businesses can participate in the weekly drawing.
More information about the virtual Christmas Walk will appear in later editions of the Amboy News.
