AMBOY Join the Amboy Education Foundation as they set sail on the first ever Virtual Voyage.

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic and the need to social distance, the Amboy Education Foundation has been forced to cancel its typical in-person fundraising events, but the Amboy students still need the community’s help. The foundation’s goal is $10,000 to ensure continued support for Amboy kids. Though the fundraising looks a little different, the mission remains the same: to enrich educational opportunities through District 272.

This year, a virtual silent auction will be held. Bid on the Virtual Silent Auction items from May 13 to 19. Online bidding begins 7 a.m., on Thursday, May 13 and lasts until 9 p.m., on Wednesday, May 19. The AirAuctioneer.com link will go live on May 12 on the Amboy Schools website. Sign in and get ready to bid to your heart’s content at www.amboy.net/virtualvoyage.

Another way to help the Amboy students is to sponsor a wish list item to help ensure students receive educational opportunities that may not be available without AEF funding.  Funds can be directed to the school or activity of your choice. Sponsorship opportunities include Brain Pop, Central School Library, Technology: Hardware and Online Systems, Scholastic News and Science Spin Magazine, Fine Arts Department, Junior High Library, Physical Education, High School Library, Science and STEM Supplies, Ag Department, ChromeBook Lease and a General Donation.

Send your donation to school with your student or mail it to Amboy Education Foundation, PO Box 46, Amboy, IL 61310.

In the past AEF, has provided $30,000 per year in educational equipment to the students of District 272. This includes new books and digital resources for the libraries and classrooms, digital learning aids for many classrooms, scientific models, landscaping projects for all the schools plus so much more.

Follow the AEF Facebook page and look for more information in The Amboy News and on ParentSquare.
