AMBOY — The Amboy City Council hosted its April meeting on Monday, April 20.
Amboy Mayor John Schamberger posted this message on Facebook about that meeting.
“The Amboy City Council had a very productive meeting last night while maintaining our distance from one another. The Council approved waving the Liquor License fees that are due May 1. We feel this is a way we can take some burden off of the businesses that are currently mandated closed.
We will also be working with the City of Dixon and the LCIDA on a grant for our local businesses. The funding is first-come first-serve. LCIDA has allocated $100,000 for Lee County grants. These funds are for all cities and unincorporated areas in Lee County. The funds are available for assistance with rent or mortgage payments and all utilities: gas, electric, telephone, internet, water, and garbage services. Please email amboymayor@comcast.net for more information or call City Hall to be put on the list. We will also be looking at ways to offer local funding to our businesses during this time. More to come on that.
Another friendly reminder we will be patrolling more for ordinance violations and putting at lot of attention on them. If your neighbor has something that needs addressed please let us know.”
