Althaus named AHS Student of the Month for May

AMBOY — Lauren Althaus, daughter of Steve and Deborah Althaus, has been named the Amboy High School Student of the Month for May.

GPA- 4.0/4.0

Memberships and involvement- “I am a member of the Amboy High School National Honor Society, Student Council, Leo’s Club, the National FFA, the OLPH Catholic Church, and the Sub-Let Indians 4-H Club.

Awards and Honors: “I have received the NorthWest Upstate Illini Conference Award, Sauk Valley Community College Deans List, State FFA Degree, Section Proficiency Award winner, State Parliamentary Procedure, and Lee County 4-H State Fair Delegate. For my athletics, I was named into the John Blackburn Hall of Fame State Qualifier, the Sauk Valley All-Area Team, Most Valuable Female Athlete, Most Valuable Female Sprinter, and have the 400m school record. I am currently at the top of my senior class and have been on the Highest Honor Roll all four years.”

Best Memories of AHS: “Cheering on our AHS football team in our huge student section this year, or doing yoga and making fun memories with the track team over the past four years.”

Future Plans: “I’m going to be attending St. Ambrose University in the College of Health and Human Services in the Fall of 2022 studying either nursing or pre-occupational therapy.”
