Amboy and Durand met again two days later on Durand’s field, and the result was the same as the Lady Clippers claimed a 7-1 win on April 13.

The game was tight through five innings, with Amboy owning a 3-1 lead, before it scored two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to pull away.

Two Lady Clippers had three hits apiece – Varga with two singles, a double and four runs batted in, and Lindenmeyer with three singles. Kylie Highbarger added a single and a double, while Karlee Doege connected for two singles.

Doege did the job in the circle, allowing just five hits and striking out nine. She did not issue a walk.

The senior was in control from start to finish, allowing just five hits over seven innings. She struck out 13 and did not walk a batter.

Amboy scored the only two runs of the game in the third.
