Amboy Clipper baseball players to win awards for the 2017 season, left to right, are Mitchell McLaughlin, Hunter Zimmerly, Jordan Hochstatter, Justin Hart and Nick Schafer.
AMBOY – The Amboy Clippers’ baseball team had five members named to the NUIC All-Conference teams.
Mitchell McLaughlin was named to the first team as an infielder. Hunter Zimmerly and Justin Hart earned second-team honors – Zimmerly as a pitcher and Hart as a catcher.
Jordan Hochstatter and Nick Schafer each received honorable mention as infielders.
The Clippers also handed out team awards. Zimmerly was voted team MVP. Clayton Kemp received the Golden Glove Award for best defender and McLaughlin earned the Silver Bat Award for best batting average.
