AMBOY — Members of the 272 KIDS committee are opening the doors of Amboy Junior High to the community from 4 – 7 p.m., on March 15, for an open house.

Committee members and school officials will be available to discuss the $15.8 million General Obligation Bond question that will be on the ballot March 20.

At the open house, a representative from the Lee County Treasurers’ Office will be available to review tax bills and determine what impact the bond will have on property owners.

Open house attendees can view preliminary drawings of the proposed new junior high school and extension to the current high school. In addition, tours through the current junior high will be offered to highlight the challenges facing teachers and students each day.

Refreshments will be provided. More information about the bond question and the proposed addition can be found at amboy272kids.wixsite.com/272kids or at 272 KIDS on Facebook.

272 KIDS (Knowledge, Infrastructure & Development for Students) is a committee of parents and community members working to better education for students attending Amboy schools.
