2022 Depot Days

AMBOY — The 2022 Amboy Depot Days started out with the crowning of the 2022 Miss Amboy.

Myla Davis is the newest Miss Amboy as she won the Depot Days Queen Pageant on Thursday, Aug. 25.

The Amboy High School freshman swayed the judges with her passion for the classroom and future plans to attend a top tier university such as University of Alabama.

There were two queen contestants as Maggie Keene was the runner-up.

Hannah Shoemaker won Junior Miss Amboy while Mila Burke was crowned Little Miss Amboy and RJ Schaefer is the new Little Mr. Amboy.

On Saturday, the day kicked off with the annual Sylvan Shuffle held by the Amboy Education Foundation. The annual Tractor Show was held downtown and the Amboy Lions Club presented their annual parade on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday brought out the annual Amboy Depot Days Car, Truck and Motorcyle Show.

Jim Mezo Jr., from Amboy, won the 50/50 drawing and took home a check in the amount of $99,430 in this year’s 50/50 raffle. The committee also gave away $2,000 to five lucky second place drawings. Those winners were: Matt Winters, Carry Ginns, Ryan Harrington, Kevin Jordal and David Jaminson.

“The weather was not our friend today but we kept on digging and came close to last year’s money but nonetheless it was a great drawing. Thank you all to bought tickets, your money will go to non-profit and charitable organizations,” posted by the Amboy Depot Days 50/50 Drawing Facebook page on Sunday.
